I love a great stir fry and this one is tasty, quick and so good for you! Garlic and ginger both have a long history in herbal remedies - but I also just love them for their pure goodness in flavour, the taste when combined is amazing. The garlic and the carrots in this recipe have come from the garden - and if anyone has tips on growing straight carrots please share as it's a little difficult to peel our home grown carrots!
It's a simple philosophy - grow as much of your food as you can, eat healthy and nutritious food and exercise to get the best out of your body.

Grilled Pork with Fennel & Blood Orange Slaw
I'm only a recent fennel convert, but I have learnt that fennel doesn't just have to compliment the protein component of a meal, it can star! It's crunchy, has this slight aniseed but sweet flavour and is amazingly refreshing. Which makes it a perfect summer ingredient. This recipe combines the richness of the pork with the sharp aniseed flavour of the fennel, the tartness of the granny smith apple and the acidity of the blood orange.

Chorizo & Sweet Potato Soup
If you can slice up vegetables and stir a pot, then you can cook this soup. It's not fussy or complicated and apart from the 30mins bubbling over the stove preparation is done in 15 minutes. This recipe has been adapted from one I saw online and I have switched a few ingredients for it to be a paleo friendly meal without losing any adventurous flavours and still enough to fill you up.

What is Grow Eat Run?
Last weekend I decided to start sharing with a wider audience what's going in the garden, what new creations are happening in the kitchen and to have a bit of an honesty system when it comes to my training for a grueling 20km in March 2012. Hopefully it will inspire you too to grow as much of your own food as you can, give you some different recipe ideas and you can share in the pain that I call distance running.
